Who We Are
Ray Gonzalez started Ray’s Ornamental Iron in 1992. He attended welding school and worked for years as a welder in different industries. With an artistic eye and entrepreneurial nature, Ray started making window security bars in the Austin and San Antonio areas. Many recognized Ray’s talents, which lead him into designing and creating custom railings, fences, gates and pretty much anything iron needed for a home or business.
In 2010, the business became a family enterprise when Ray’s son, Roland, joined his father to assist in project management and day-to-day operations. They train their own staff of welders to execute the high quality of work required for custom fabrication, as well as to do repairs and mobile welding jobs. This includes Ray’s grandson, Lucas, who has brought a third generation of the family to Ray’s team of iron craftsmen.

Stairs and Railings
Whether you want a spiral staircase, or custom stair railings and hand rails, we can design and make any thing you can conceive. We do wrought iron vertical railings, horizontal railings, cable rails and much more.
Fences and Gates
Fancy or simple. Large or small gates. You can’t get too simple or fancy for us. Same for fences.
Decorative Features
Cross bars, balcony railings, decorative hooks. We can make it if you can dream it.

How We Work
Arrange a time to discuss what you’d like. Drawings or pictures really help.
We’ll take preliminary measurements so we can give you an estimate of cost.
Give us a few days and we’ll draw up a preliminary design. Then we make changes together.
Once a design is finalized, we take final measurements and ask for a 50% deposit.
It typically takes a couple weeks to fabricate. Then we install.
After we install and you are satisfied, we collect the remaining 50%.
We accept all major credit cards.
